When Bruce Lee died, he left behind 12 minutes of footage from his final film. The upcoming movie Finishing the Game imagines what would have happened if bumbling studio executives had tried to find a passable stand-in for Lee to finish the film. The answer is hilarity.
Starring Roger Fan (Better Luck Tomorrow), Sung Kang (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift), Monique Curren (Maria Full of Grace) and MC Hammer, Finishing the Game was an official selection of the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. Now yKAN and The Korea Society are presenting the film’s director and lead actors for a film panel at The Korea Society (950 Third Avenue, on the corner of 57th Street) on September 26, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, followed by a reception at Opia. The panel will feature Finishing the Game director Justin Lin, and actors Roger Fan and Sung Kang, discussing their recent film and their experiences as Asian American artists in Hollywood. Admission is free. Please RSVP to membership@ykan.org. co-presented with yKan  About the Panelists   Justin LinProducer, Writer and Director Lin made his solo directing debut in 2002, with the critically acclaimed Better Luck Tomorrow. Ebert and Roeper listed Better Luck Tomorrow as one of the top five best films of the year. Lin’s second major-studio feature, Annapolis (starring James Franco, Tyrese Gibson and Jordana Brewer) was released nationwide in January 2006. Lin subsequently directed Universal Studio’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, which grossed $150 million worldwide.  Roger FanActor Roger Fan made his feature film debut in 1998’s Rush Hour and appeared in the Disney/Touchstone comedy Corky Romano. Fan has previously worked with Justin Lin in Better Luck Tomorrow and Annapolis. With a background in live theater, Fan has appeared in stage productions in Britain, Ireland the U.S. His most recent theater credits include Lettice & Lovage, Terminus Americana and Texas and Performance Anxiety.  Sung KangActor Another alumnus of Better Luck Tomorrow, Sung Kim has also worked with Lin on The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Sung was featured in the 2005 Miguel Arteta-produced drama The Motel and the indie noir Undoing, starring Kelly Hu. Prior credits include supporting roles in Denzel Washington’s Antwone Fisher and Michael Bay’s Pearl Harbor.
