2008 Pusan International Film Festival Opening: I was there! ("special report")

Hi, so I'm back from the dead (and/or from non-blogging: please read previous posts - on this). I landed in Pusan (or Busan, as the new spelling goes) yesterday and attended the opening ceremony in a semi-comatose/delirious state (it's a long haul from NYC).

So far, so good, though. "One hell of a good start," as one of the Spartans said (I think), and a very exciting first day (more on this later, hopefully).

Kim Dong-Ho, Ahn Sung-ki, an an (as yet) unidentified ajosshi that someone more au fait than me might be able to recognize, were there to welcome the beautiful (for the most part), bold, rich and famous (etc.) I wanted to get a good picture of this, and since I can't shake hands and operate the camera at the same time... ah well.

As I walked in there like a drunken shaolin cowboy in a ghost town (I'm still jet-lagged, in my own defense), I snatched a couple of pictures, which is probably not the most recommendable thing to do, when walking on a red carpet, I guess. Anyway, here are a few snapshots in this very special first day in Pusan.

I'm not sure who that was. Perhaps Shin Mina, with her new hair color. The male volunteers were more excited than the horde of high-school girls at the entrance.

THe tall guy is Shin Hyun-Joo. The woman, Kang Hye-Jong. Kim Rae-Won and Park Jin-Hee walked in right after that.

Yet another proof that I was having trouble taking pictures last night. The real point of this photo is that there was a very tall, good-looking person of the opposite sex (famous, it goes without saying)... and I missed the shot! Wow.

For the record, Jang Dong-gun stormed right past me, five seconds after this somewhat pointless (and utterly vain) shot.
