Korean Cinema @ The Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival

The Korea Society co-presents three Korean films at the Silk Screen: Asian American Film Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The festival, which runs this year from May 11th through 20th during Asian American heritage Month, was founded to showcase the best contemporary films from Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines, as well as Asian American films.

With its expansive cinematography and dynamic score, the action-packed film will be sure to pierce hearts and capture the indomitable spirit of Korea.

Set in South Korea just days before the 1953 cease fire of the Korean War, “The Front Line” is a poignant anti-war film that delves into the limitations of humanity during wartime. It forces viewers everywhere to question which should take precedence: dedication to one’s country or to one’s conscience?

South Korean film about a group of middle aged women going through various mid-life struggles, seeking to reunite with each other. The film goes back and forth from their 1980s high school selves, when they first became friends, and their present day selves.
