About the Instructor:


Chunghie Lee is a fiber artist and writer who teaches pojagi at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Lee's authoritative study and original interpretation of the art of pojagi and other traditional Korean wrapping cloths, has inspired various wall pieces, sculptures and wearable works. She has lectured and exhibited extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.

She was a guest designer and lecturer for the "Fashion in Motion" program of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London in April 2001. Her works have appeared in many major publications and have been featured on the covers of Ornament (Summer 1996), Fiberarts (March/April 1996), Surface Design Journal (Fall 1999) and Textile Forum (Germany. 4/1999). Lee were also featured in TechnoTextiles: Revolutionary Fabrics for Fashion and Design (Thames and Hudson, London, 1998), in the 2000 International Designer's Yearbook (London). Her artwork is on display in the collections of many institutions and museums including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Kwangju Costume Museum in Korea.

She received her BFA and MFA degrees from Hongik University, and was a Fulbright Exchange Scholar to Rhode Island School of Design in 1994.
