Teaching East Asia

2011 12 02 teaching eastasia iconDr. Richard Shek, Professor of Humanities and Religious Studies at California State University, Sacramento, andDr. Mark Peterson, Professor of Korean Studies at Brigham Young University, will introduce educators to Confucianism’s influence on the history, literature, and society of China, Japan, and Korea; provide a better understanding of the socio-cultural foundations of East Asia; and survey the available primary sources to introduce East Asia in the classroom.

We encourage educators to attend this Vital Session to enhance their knowledge of East Asia and obtain primary sources for instruction.
