Free Event: Early Registration Requested PRESENTERS Jin Young Choi taught at the University of North Carolina for five years before becoming a professor of American literature at Chung-Ang University in Seoul. She was president of the American Studies Association in 2000. She is a graduate of Seoul National University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hyangsoon Yi is associate professor of comparative literature at the University of Georgia. She received a Ph.D. in English from Pennsylvania State University. Her research areas include Korean cinema and literature, and Buddhist monasticism. She has published articles on Korean and Japanese films, contemporary Korean fiction, and Buddhist nuns. Her book Buddhist Nuns and Korean Literature was selected as one of the Outstanding Scholarly Books of the Year 2009 by the National Academy of Sciences, Republic of Korea. She teaches courses on popular culture and arts in Korea as well as on East Asian literature and film.
Patricia Rosof is adjunct instructor of history at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, New York, and has worked as a consultant for the College Board and The Korea Society. She has taught social studies at Hunter College High School for nineteen years and is the co-author of Student Preparation Guide for the AP European History Exam. |
