Instructor Biographies

Eunjung Ji (Introductory Korean I & II) 

Eunjung Ji is currently a doctoral student in education at Columbia University and a Korean language instructor at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. Ji has been teaching basic Korean and English since 1995. Her extensive experience in both languages makes her an especially good fit for beginning language students. Ji developed English-language teaching materials for Jung Chul Interlab, Inc. and has taught basic English at Kyonggi University in Suwon and Hongik University in Seoul. In the United States, Ji has taught basic Korean at Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, and presented several scholarly papers on linguistics pedagogy at professional conferences. Ji holds an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from New York University. 


Sunhee Song (Intermediate Korean I & II, Advanced Korean) 

Sunhee Song received her MA in TESOL from San Francisco State University and her Ed.M and Ed.D in TESOL from Teachers College at Columbia University. Her research and teaching interests include second-language acquisition, language pedagogy, interactional approaches to second-language development, and Korean linguistics. She currently teaches elementary and intermediate Korean courses at the department of East Asian languages and cultures at Columbia University.
