A Special Concert of 21st Century Korean ‘New’ Traditional Music

The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proudly presents the second annual concert, Korea 21: Music Here and Now, in collaboration with the Gugak FM Broadcasting System in Seoul and the Korean Traditional Performing Arts Association of New York on Sunday, April 5 at 7 p.m., at Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Symphony Space.

A highlight of this event will be the select group of outstanding Korean traditional and popular music artists directly from Korea, such as fusion vocal group, Anaya and Project Sinawi, who ranked in the top ten at the 2008, “21C Korean Music Project Competition,” one of the most prestigious new music competitions in South Korea. A special guest music ensemble for this concert is Vinalog, a leading world music group in Korea known for creating “Korean jazz” in combination  with Korean traditional music genres and instruments.
