New Media Specialist/Digital Marketing and Web Development The Korea Society, an organization dedicated to the promotion of greater awareness, understanding, and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea, seeks a full-time new-media specialist to help with the organization’s Web and print offerings. Applicants should display an interest in Korean or Asian issues and be able to create high-quality work for the Society’s communications with its business, government, and academic constituencies. Responsibilities include: * Increasing Web traffic and program attendance through the creation and management of compelling Web sites, email marketing campaigns, social media, datafeeds, and online advertising tools* Creation of graphic designs for online and offline channels, including program materials, templates, email campaigns, banners, and general Web-site maintenance * Maintenance of organization's content management system * Preparation of audio and video files for distribution * Coordination of teleconferences * Tracking, analysis, and reporting for Web analytics, email marketing, display advertising, search, social media and other consumer marketing functions * Review of technology practices to recommend opportunities for improvement Preferred skills: * Excellent layout and typographical instincts* Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and knowledge of web-based platforms, browsers, HTML and CSS * Familiarity with video and audio editing * History of quickly creation of graphics to accompany Web articles * Ability to teach and work well with others * Attention to detail with an ability to meet tight timelines * Strong written, editing and oral communication skills Please send resume, cover letter and portfolio link (include salary history/requirements) to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Internship positions at The Korea Society are unpaid, but a modest allowance is provided to cover commuting and lunch costs. The work schedule is flexible and will be discussed during the interview. The Korea Society Journal – Call for Submissions The Korea Society Journal (TKSJ), an online and print publication of The Korea Society, is now accepting article submissions for its 2009 issue. TKSJ seeks opinion, analysis and reportage on political,business, social, arts/media, cultural and historic topics related to both North and South Korea, as well as articles on U.S.–Korea relations.
