About the Speakers:

Paik Nak-chung is the South Korean chair emeritus of the All-Korean Committee for Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration and a professor emeritus of English at Seoul National University. He is the author of The Rewards of Literature in the Age of Reunification (2006) and Reunification Korean-Style, Present Progressive Tense (2006) as well as the recipient of the 2009 Kim Dae-jung Academic Award and the 2001 Manhae Award for Activism. Paik holds a Ph.D. in English literature from Harvard University.

Oh Jae-Shik is the executive director of the Asia Institute in Seoul. A long time leader in Korean ecumenical and missionary organizations, Oh served as the executive director of DPRK ministry in the Asia-Pacific regional office of World Vision International from 2003 through 2005, and as president of World Vision Korea from 1997 through 2002. In 2002, Oh was awarded the Republic of Korea’s Order of Civil Merit. He holds an MA in religion from Yale University.

Lee Moon-Sook is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church and the general secretary of Korea Church Women United. She has been a member and coordinator of numerous organizations promoting inter-Korean reconciliation, including the Christian Women’s Campaign for Sending Rice to North Korea, the Cultural Committee of Korean Council of Religion and Peace, the Church Women’s Campaign for Sending Baby Food to North Korea and Women's Committee of National Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation. Lee holds a doctorate in ministry from the San Francisco Theological Seminary.
