Ahn Sehong became interested in photography and started to document Korean traditional mask dances at an early age. His documentary photography has focused on the underprivileged: the disabled, comfort women, and victims of human rights abuses. He studied shamanism, Buddhism and folklore, and currently is working on a series of photographs comparing Korean shamanism with Japanese and other Asian traditions. He is the founder of the Juju Project, which highlights the historical record of comfort women, bringing Layer by Layer to twelve cities worldwide.

Stephen Noerper has lectured widely on Global Korea and history and popular memory as part of his contemporary Korea classes at New York University and American University and for university and policy groups in New York, Korea and Northeast Asia. A fine arts photography enthusiast and collector, he's helped usher several The Korea Society showings, including Northeast Asia New (York). He also served with the Edward R. Murrow Center, and extends special thanks to the Korea Press Center.
