PRESS RELEASE On March 5, 2007, at the offices of The Korea Society in New York City, an official delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) met with a group of experienced and interested American citizens under the auspices of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy and The Korea Society to discuss a range of bilateral issues and concerns between the United States and the DPRK, including prospects for normalization of relations between the two countries. The meeting took place in a friendly and forthcoming atmosphere.
Participants on both sides welcomed the opportunity to examine in detail matters of mutual concern which for some time had not been addressed bilaterally. The participants agreed that continuing dialogue of this nature can be helpful in laying the foundation for improved official relations to be established through forthcoming negotiations. Today’s meeting was part of a continuing effort by The Korea Society and the National Council for American Foreign Policy to encourage dialogue between the United States and the DPRK as a way of enhancing bilateral understanding. download pdf Participants in today’s meeting included the following persons:
