The Korea Society brings policy and corporate programming to the Mile High City. The Korea Society @ Denver events focus primarily on the theme of the implications of Korea’s rise for U.S.-Korea relations and globally for policy, corporate and academic supporters.
The Korea Society and Josef Korbel School of International Studies host a luncheon ambassadorial dialogue with Ambassadors Chris Hill and Mark Minton on the rise of global Korea and new tensions on the Korean Peninsula. TKS partners with WorldDenver and the World Trade Center for a dinner featuring Korean Ambassador to the United States YJ Choi and Ambassador Thomas Hubbard; the two discuss Korea-U.S. Relations: From Allies to Global Partners for policy and corporate leaders keenly interested given rising Peninsular tensions and upcoming Obama-Park summit. The American Museum of Western Art hosts the ambassadors for a tour of collection highlights, and in a closing cultural nod, TKS visits the Boulder studios of renowned sculptor Jerry Wingren, whose Standing Stones, Resting Stones remains the Society’s most critically acclaimed showing.
