Project Bridge is a year-long intercultural youth leadership program centered on a study tour of Korea. Since its inception in 1993, Project Bridge thrived and has gradually evolved into a curriculum of programs with a focus on Korea and on intercultural issues. More than 250 high school students have participated in the program as Youth Ambassadors. The program provides an intercultural lens through which to understand Korean culture and history in order to enhance future U.S.-Korea relations.

Each year, in collaboration with the Pacific Century Institute (PCI), The Korea Society recruits 16 students from public high schools in New York and Los Angeles. Prior to the capstone ten-day study tour to Korea, students participate in six months of workshops on intercultural issues, Korean history, and U.S.-Korea relations. The study tour extends and enhances the insights and knowledge developed from these workshops, providing direct opportunities to see Korea and meet Koreans. As a whole, Project Bridge offers students an opportunity to explore the meaning of diversity—both within and outside America.

The Community Presentation is a great opportunity to learn about the program. Current New York City high school sophomores and juniors are especially welcomed to attend and learn more about how to apply to be part of Project Bridge 2011-2012.
