After a long absence, the Van Fleet Memorial Golf Tournament returned to the Alpine Country Club in Demarest, New Jersey in 2007. If the 87 golfers, playing in 22 teams, were challenged by the fast greens, they were also indulged by the attentive staff and the newly renovated clubhouse facilities. Preceded by a sumptuous breakfast, the day’s play produced some remarkable scores and a chance for friends and supporters of The Korea Society to network and strengthen relationships. Top players and teams were recognized at an awards ceremony held during the dinner that brought the tournament to a close. The winners were:

Alpine Country Club
Dear Members and Friends of The Korea Society,
I most cordially invite you to participate in The Korea Society’s 17th Annual Van Fleet Memorial Benefi t Golf Tournament. We are celebrating The Korea Society’s 50th anniversary this year, which makes the 2007 tournament a very special one for us. This year also marks the tournament’s return to Alpine Country Club, which boasts a beautiful 6,882-yard course designed by A.W. Tillinghast, as well as an elegant new clubhouse. Playing at Alpine is always a special treat, and I warmly welcome you to join your fellow golf enthusiasts as we take on this challenging course. The Van Fleet Memorial Benefit Golf Tournament provides an opportunity for our members and friends to get better acquainted during a fun-filled day in a delightful setting, and this year’s event will be no exception. The success of this tournament over the years has contributed greatly to our efforts to build and strengthen The Korea Society, and the generosity of our many friends always adds a wonderful and meaningful dimension to the event. As a dedicated golfer, I look forward to welcoming both golfers and non-golfers at the tournament, which promises to be bigger and better than ever. See you at the first tee!
