In 2022–23, Pew Research Center conducted the largest survey ever of Americans of Asian ancestry. Now 24 million strong, Asian Americans are the fastest growing, and in many ways the most transformative, racial and ethnic group in the United States. Co-published by Third State Books and Pew Research Center, Everyday Americans: Asians in the U.S. Today uses the Center’s remarkable data set to paint one of the most in-depth portraits available of Asian America.
Author and head researcher Neil G. Ruiz, who is Filipino American, braids his own family’s experience with that of the thousands of survey respondents, weaving a complex and moving portrait of the constantly evolving Asian American experience.
In a conversation with The Korea Society, Ruiz will share his insights into the research, explore the narrative of Korean Americans, and reflect on the book’s illuminating, deeply personal account.
This program is sponsored by The Asian American Foundation.
