RAMI SEO’S Project World Music Ensemble

Rami Seo’s Project was founded in 2007 by Rami Seo, a world class gayaguemist. Even though her instrument is based in Korean tradition, Ms. Seo believes in exploring new possibilities in gayageum. She gathered other like-minded musicians, masters of their respective instruments, to create World Music Ensemble, a unique group that combines traditional, classical, and modern styles to create music that is beyond any singular style.

Hee Jung Han

Hee Jung Han, a professional haegum (two stringed fiddle) player, performed as a principle member of the two traditional orchestras in Korea: the Youth Korean Traditional Music Orchestra and Seoul Metropolitan Traditional Music Orchestra. She graduated from Chu-Gye University of Art, completing B.A and M.A where she achieved the traditional academic training and further developed her artistic talent by studying with the most celebrated haegum performers such as Jung Lim Kim and Kyung-Sook Yang. While attending college, she was honored as the haegum player of the year. Upon arriving to the U.S. in 2005, she joined The Sounds of Korea on tour and performed at events including “Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival” (2013) and “Celebrate Korea” at Philadelphia Museum of Art (2014). She also has appeared on many solo stages: “Contemplative Tradition Music Series” at The Korea Society (2011), “The 60th Anniversary of the Korean War” at The Korean Consulate General in NYC (2010), and “Korean Traditional Music and Change” at CUNY Graduate Center (2010) to name a few.

Eunhye Jeong

Eunhye Jeong is a pianist/composer based in Boston, who studied Film Scoring and Jazz Piano Performance at Berklee College of Music. She performed at prestigious venues such as Museum of Fine Arts Boston, UN Headquarter in New York, Berklee Performance Center, and more as a band leader and a session pianist. Her deep appreciation of Korean traditional music led her to found “Sigimsae” (2011-2013), which showcased Korean percussion music, various crossover works in greater Boston area and also recorded scores for feature-documentary . In 2015, Jeong released her debut album including her arrangement of Jindo Arirang, one of many “Arirang(s)”, the UNESCO Heritage registered folk song. Her album received attention from Korean media and was featured in SBS FM Radio, Gugak FM, etc. As a film composer/music director, she scored short films such as an award-winning student film and which she co-wrote with Stevie Wonder’s percussionist Muyungo Jackson.

7000Miles

7000Miles was founded in 2012 with the mission to help bridge the gap between international musicians and the professional music scene in the United States. The primary functions of 7000Miles include concert promotion, artist management, venue booking, and media relations. The ultimate goal is to create a live music community comprised of distinguished musicians from around the globe. ‘7000’ refers to the approximate number of miles between Seoul, Korea and New York City which symbolizes “international” and “cultural exchange” among peer musicians. ‘Miles’ is a tribute to the great jazz musician Miles Davis, one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, who also supported the next generation of jazz musicians.
