Event Link: <p style="text-align: justify;">Dr. Marcus Noland is the Deputy Director of the Peterson Institute for International Economics and a Senior Fellow at the East-West Center. He was a Senior Economist at the Council of Economic Advisers in the Executive Office of the President and has held research or teaching positions at Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Southern California, Tokyo University, Saitama University (now the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies), the University of Ghana, and the Korea Development Institute. He has written extensively on the economies of Japan, Korea, and China, and is unique among American economists in having devoted serious, scholarly effort to the problems of North Korea and the prospects for Korean unification. He won the 2000–01 Ohira Memorial Award for his book Avoiding the Apocalypse: The Future of the Two Koreas. He is a frequent speaker at business fora and a keen observer of international economic development and the G20 process.</p>

This second in a series of executive breakfast sessions will address the November summit schedule with Dr. Marcus Noland, deputy director and senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. After exploring the significance of the Seoul Summit and potential for institutional reform in our first breakfast of the series, this follow-up discussion will focus on the dynamics of the G20 summit, as well as the issue areas to be addressed. A special podcast of the session, hosted by The Korea Society Senior Vice President, Dr. Stephen Noerper, will be released to the public later in the day.
