Event Link: Cliff Thomas is a Managing Director leading business development, route to market efforts and sales for Cisco’s Smart+Connected Communities (S+CC) in the Americas focused on intelligent urbanization. His global team is responsible for developing business strategies creating new routes to market through joint ventures, new revenue share models, public private partnerships and business acceleration for Cisco’s clients, governments, and ecosystems partners. The approach leverages Cisco’s S+CC solutions, which include Real Estate, Education, Physical Safety & Security, Health & Wellness, Transportation, Residential, Retail, Hospitality, Sports & Entertainment, Utilities and Government. Cliff Thomas has 25+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including management consulting and a successful venture in a technology services start-up.  With 16 years at Cisco in various sales, business development and global leadership roles, he has become an integral member of a team focused on entering and scaling new market opportunities. He is a graduate from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and minor in Economics. Additional engineering thesis work on Pneumatic Wave Energy Conversion was completed at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland with a focus on sustainability.     Tom Murcott is Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Gale International. He provides strategic oversight for all corporate and project communications programs. Tom also serves as the Global Foreign Investment Officer, tasked to bring investors and occupiers to Songdo IBD, the $35-billion, 1,500 acre smart, sustainable city rising in Incheon, South Korea. Songdo IBD will ably serve as Korea’s hub for international commerce, trade, and research. A featured speaker at international conferences and events, he advocates the economic and environmental benefits of smart, sustainable cityscale development. Prior to joining Gale International, Tom was a founding partner of a New York City-based, integrated marketing services firm.
