Thursday, May 1 - Laurence Kardish, senior curator emeritus for film of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), addresses the departments of Asian studies and cinema studies of the University of Oregon on the legacy of Korean film and Korean film today at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, as part of The Korea Society's regional programs.

Friday, May 2 - Dr. Stephen Noerper, Senior Vice President of The Korea Society, addresses Korea's growth in regional and global leadership, and current concerns on North Korea, China and Japan. Dr. Noerper discusses opportunities for collaboration between the United States and Korea on global problems and challenges ahead, at the White Lotus Gallery in Eugene, OR.

 

 

The Korea Society visits the University of Oregon for a program on regional relations, as well as a talk on Korean film by Laurence Kardish, the Museum of Modern Art’s Senior Curator Emeritus. 

 

On May 1-2, Dr. Noerper appears at the University of Oregon to speak on Korea and regional relations at the invitation of director of Asian Studies and professor Jeff Hanes and Holt International vice president and head of government relations, as well as Oregon’s Honorary Korean Consul General, Susan Cox. Again combining policy and arts, The Korea Society welcomes Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) senior curator emeritus for film, Laurence Kardish, who addresses the department of Asian studies and cinema studies on the legacy of Korean film and Korean film today.
