About the Speakers

John Ku launched Manor Road Capital in September 2012.  Manor Road Capital is a $750 million long/short equity hedge fund that employs a concentrated value investing approach.  Previously, John was a portfolio manager at SAC Capital (now Point72 Asset Management) from 2008-2011, a senior analyst at Silver Point Capital from 2002-2008 and an investment banking analyst at Wasserstein Perella from 2001-2002.  He graduated from Yale College in 2001.

 


 

Sang Lee (Moderator) is a Senior Vice President in the External Managers Department of the GIC in New York. For the first seven years since joining GIC in 2006, Sang covered industrials and healthcare as an equity analyst/PM. He has been in his current role since Nov-13 and covers a wide array of both long-only and long/short equity managers.

Sang has an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) (2006) and a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago (1997). Prior to business school, he worked at TPG Asia doing private equity transactions and prior to that, he worked at Lazard and Jones Lang LaSalle.
