Game Changers: Gen.G’s Vision for Esports, with CEO Arnold Hur

On Tuesday, March 12th at 6:30 PM, The Korea Society’s Young Professionals’ Network is honored to host Arnold Hur, CEO at Gen.G Esports, for an illuminating conversation focused on the esports industry, moderated by Janice Yu, Reporter and Fill in Anchor at ABC7 NY. Under Hur’s leadership during the recent surge of esports popularity, Gen.G Esports is the leading esports organization connecting the U.S. and Asia.

Ranked in the Top #10 of the 2020 Forbes list of the world’s most valuable esports companies, Gen.G is a global thought leader fostering an inclusive future for gaming. The core mission at Gen.G is to leverage gaming and esports for success in and beyond competition. About the Speaker:

 

Arnold Hur is the CEO of Gen.G, a global esports organization. Based in Los Angeles, Seoul, and Shanghai, Gen.G owns and operates top esports teams globally as well as the largest gaming academy in the world, Gen.G Global Academy with over 2,000 students actively enrolled in both its pro gaming and gaming education programs. Before joining Gen.G, Arnold was president of Memebox, one of Korea’s most successful startup companies, where he helped grow the company from Series A to Series C, raising over $160M. Prior to Memebox, he worked on product and strategy at Google, management consulting at Boston Consulting Group, and investment banking with Goldman Sachs.

 

About the Moderator:

 

Janice Yu is an Emmy Award nominated reporter and fill in anchor with ABC 7 Eyewitness News. Her career has taken her all around the country, covering topics such as immigration on the U.S.-Mexico border, presidential elections, protests and the Atlanta Spa shootings. She was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in Arizona. Yu is a member of the Asian American Journalist Association, which advocates for diversity in journalism.
