The Korea Society welcomes Korean War veterans and guests to the Korean War memorial in lower Manhattan’s Battery Park. Now in its second year, this annual salute to Korean War veterans on Armistice Day (July 27) features solemn taps, moving reflections, and song and instrumental renderings to mark the War’s end and the valor of US, South Korean, and UN forces during the conflict. This year’s proceedings begin at 12 noon at the memorial, and Korea Society members and the general public are welcome. A lunch for invited veterans follows the ceremony.
