PROJECT BRIDGE YOUTH AMBASSADORS 2024 Community Presentation

Media

Join us to celebrate the 2023-2024 participants of the longest running education program offered at the Society, the Project Bridge Youth Ambassador Program.

Eight New York City public high school students were selected last fall, via a competitive competition, as the 2023-2024 Youth Ambassadors. Since November these students, who represent a range of NYC schools, have participated in 16 workshops in which they explored Korean culture, cuisine, history and language as well economics, current events on the peninsula and the importance of the US-Korea alliance. Further, numerous activities focused on leadership and intercultural competence skill development.

In addition to the workshops, the youth ambassadors spent ten-days exploring Korea in-person. The annual study tour to the Republic of Korea, a major highlight of the program, provided the participants with significant exposure to many people, activities, and places in Korea of historical and social significance. They had the privilege to meet with leaders in government, business, education, and the arts and to spend time at Korean high schools interacting with students their own age.

This Community Presentation is another highlight of the program as it provides the students with the opportunity to share with you and a broader audience what they have learned, insights they have gained and to celebrate an academic year of hard work and exploration. We hope you can join us. A reception follows the presentations.
